Occasions of Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) mission; after Migration to Madina (Yasrab)

Migration to Madina from Macca

At Madina there were Jewish tribes who had often spoken to the pagans of a Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) soon to come among the Arabs, with whom, when he came, (according to the prophesies of Jews of Madina) the Jews would destroy the pagans as the ancient people of Aad and Samood had been destroyed for their idolatry.
When the men from Madina visited Macca and saw Muhammad  (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) , they recognized him as the Prophet whom the Jewish rabbis had described to them. On their return to Madina they told what they had seen and heard, with the result that the next season of pilgrimage a delegation came from Madina to meet the Prophet.
Within a year or two, about all citizens of Madina accepted Islam and invited the Prophet Muhammad to live with them at Madina because there was a threat to Prophet's life in Macca. So all muslims and Prophet Muhammad migrated to Madina.
The unbelievers of Macca followed Prophet Muhammad to kill him but God saved him.

Islamic Brotherhood

One of the most important things the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) did in Madina was to ask the people of Madina to help those who came from Macca. The people of Madina shared their homes and goods with the people of Macca most readily. The people who helped were called Ansars (helpers) and the people who migrated, were called the Muhajireen (those who migrate). This helping and sharing is called Muwakhat (Islamic Brotherhood).

Treaty with the Jewish Tribes

  1. In the first year after migration, Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) as the head of estate signed a treaty with the Jewish tribes of Madina to secure peace in the city. According to this treaty, they agreed to help each other and defend Madina from outside aggression.
The idea of this treaty was to try and bring the Muslims and Jews to live in peace and defend the city of Madina from anyone who wanted to cause harm to it.

In the event of any quarrel between two parties and if no agreement is reached then Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) would give the final decision which nobody would go against.
Following are the most important clauses of the treaty:
    1.    This is a document from Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) the Messenger of God governing the relations between the believers and Muslims of the Quraish and Madinah and those who joined, and followed and laboured (fought) with them.
    2.    All the inhabitants of Madina will be considered as one nation.
    3.    To the Jews who follow us belong help and equality. He shall not be wronged nor shall his enemies be aided.
    4.    The Jews shall have their freedom of their religion without any interference from anyone.
    5.    It shall be the duty of the members of this 'treaty' to defend their allies from any attacks from the enemies of Madina.
    6.    No non-Muslim member shall give any assistance or protection to the Quraish of Makkah who were virtually at war with the Muslims.
    7.    The people of Madina shall not interfere with the life or religion of each other.
    8.    They must seek mutual advice and consultation, and loyalty is a protection against treachery.
    9.    It shall be the duty of everyone to assist the poor and the oppressed.
    10. Massacres and killing shall be strictly forbidden.
    11. The parties and the 'Treaty' shall be responsible for the maintenance and peace and the valley of Madina shall be a sanctuary for the people of this document.
    12.         If any dispute or controversy likely to cause trouble should arise, it must be referred to God and to Muhammad the messenger of God.
Battles between Muslims and non-believers

Several battles were fought between the new Muslim State of Madina and the non-believers of Macca. The first battle was at Badr when 1000 idol worshippers of Macca marched to Madina with 700 camels and 300 horses, to destroy the Islamic state. Muslims defended with 313 men, 70 camels and only 3 horses. God gave victory to Muslims.
After that two battles were fought namely Uhad and Ahzab.
Eight years after migration to Madina, the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) marched towards Macca with 10,000 muslims' army and entered in Macca victoriously without any bloodshed. Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) announced the general pardon and said, "Have no fear this day, May God forgive you, and God is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy".
After announcing the general pardon, the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) purified the House of God (Kaaba) by removing all 360 idols which idol worshippers installed in there and said, "Truth has come and Falsehood vanished and no more shall falsehood return".
Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) remained in Makka for about 10-15 days and thereafter returned to Madina.
